Shouts, faces, cities and lonely roads was premiered on December 13, 1990 by André Solomon-Glover and Warren Jones at Merkin Recital Hall in New York City. 

Version for baritone and orchestra was premiered on February 25, 1994 by the Denver Chamber Orchestra; Paul Lustig Dunkel conductor.
